Responce to the 3rd Article

Chapter out of "Speaking With The Angel" by Nick Hornby

Nipple Jesus

In this article, the writer tells a story of a controversial picture of Jesus on the cross. The story teller is the bouncer, whose name is Dave, which is hired by the art museum to protect it. While reading this story, maybe because of the way the bouncer talked. All I could picture was Henry Rollins being this bouncer. He also said his father was Irish that added to the toughness I guess. I enjoyed this story as a whole. It was very easy to follow and understand. I enjoyed the hidden meaning of the picture. It was this nice girl, as Dave describes, who was very sweet and didn’t look like she would do such a thing. This guy was very funny at times, at how he describes events. In the end it turns out the point of the display was to film it. The film was the real artwork, as the girl describes. Dave got a very boring job afterwards guarding an onion. This big bouncer that has been stopping bar fights is sitting in an art gallery. I suppose the artistic view on all this is that art is not always what it seems to be. Many see it in a certain way but the artist intended it to be something else.
