Art Which Can’t Be Art
In this article I did not find an art form. I didn’t see how this Kaprow was referring to brushing his teeth as an art form. He went on and on about his routing in the morning. Brushing his teeth mainly, but also looking at himself in the face and washing his face. He makes a point that these routine things we do every day are habits that we don’t pay attention too much. I on the other hand pay attention when brushing my teeth. I guess everyone is different if we talk about brushing teeth. I read somewhere that most people do not like to look at themselves when brushing their teeth. They close their eyes even and try to hurry up about it. I like to enjoy brushing teeth. After all most of us only do it twice a day, some do it more often. The thing I liked about this article is it made you think of other boring routine things in a different perspective. We as humans develop habits after repeating the same thing over and over, day after day. Now when we stop and take a look around and notice things we don’t normally notice, I suppose you can create an art form from that.
